6 December, 2008 - Jervis's birthday

We celebrated Jervis's birthday at Xiao Hong Wu in East Coast today. Mum invited Auntie Eugenia and Elysia as well :)

Dar and me went to the gynae today, and so during dinner, we announced to everyone that we are going to have a baby. :)

There was silence for awhile, i think that's because no one expected us to be having kids anytime so soon. But i know dad and mum are happy and over the top because they have been hinting that we are not young anymore and we should be planning for kids soon.

Cheerios to having a little ox baby.

26 October, 2008 - Great Eastern Run

I woke up at 6am this morning to get ready for the 5km run. Run run run walk walk walk... the night before, i had butterflies in my stomach...i wanted to back out hahaha but i promised my dearest sistas so i had to do it.

It's a 5km run.

*** pics to be uploaded :)

25 October, 2008 - MIL issues

Went to Yishun today. Because "everyone" would be there today. I think i am starting to resent the things the MIL does or rather the things the MIL tries to interfere with. It all started with the "house cleaning" and rice cooker. One day, the MIL decides that we might need some help with cleaning our house. So the MIL decides to come by and cleaned it. And because the MIL thinks we do not need such a big rice cooker, we lost the rice cooker. We will get a small one in exchange. I tried to be cool about it but i am really bothered.

I value my privacy and freedom above alot of things. Now i feel that my privacy has been invaded and i am quite upset. The MIL has even decides that our baby will stay with her while we are away. There is even a plan to how we are should be leaving for our flight. I am not given any options or choice and i feel trapped. I even have to continue buying a set of 4D numbers cos the MIL repeatedly emphasize that it's better to continue buying this number.

For a long time since the incident of the rice cooker happened, i asked myself if i was bothered about having a smaller ulu sami rice cooker or i just simply prefer the bigger, branded rice cooker. Neither. It's not the rice cooker, it's my privacy at stake. How can i have someone try to run part of my life.

Great, the last i heard as of today, we are not going to have kids because there would be problems. "It's better not to have any kids cos i can foreseen problems." Okaaaay, not that i want to be a mum anyway.

Because my privacy is at stake, i am Ms Attitude this afternoon. Everything is making my temper surface and i did not bother to hide my displeasure and it showed on my face..shouldn't have..

23 October, 2008 - My Passions

We had dance class today...make up class for the one that we would be missing in November. I think dance and make up are my only passions. At least these two interests sustained more than five years :)

I am still feeling sick but the moment the music starts, i felt well :)

22 October, 2008 - Sick

Oh dear, i fell ill today. Caught a cold sob sob :( i used up like a whole box of tissue papers...and my eyes are all watery arrrggghhh

By noon, it's more than i can bear..the clinic's empty so Amy and me walked over to see the doc. Halfway throught the outpatient session, it rained! Both of us did not have an umbrella. But we were both lucky :) we met the rest for lunch and walked back together after lunch keke

I have to get well latest by end of this week arrrrggghhh

19 October, 2008 - Ugly side of life

Read on the papers today about one of Dr Lily Neo's meet-the-people sessions. Interesting and it certainly stirs something in me. An ah pek, in his seventies, wants a dish washing job...but no one wants him cos he is too old and weak. But he needs the job to take care of all his three meals...or at least one meal a day.

i need to think about this and write something...soon...right after i am back from my chill out trip.

17 October, 2008 - Bowling Nite

We have early release..at 4.30 :) cos we have a friendly bowling match later in the evening at Pasir Ris. It's a company event and i kinda look forward to it. I am in the same team as FM and Nicholas Sim. Sigh...i wish we could at least choose our team members if i had to bowl...something i don't really enjoy. Anyway...at least there would be something to look forward to after the event :)

After the competition ended, we stayed to play a few more games and my arm was aching by the time we are through with the fourth game.

Edwin, Sean, Sarah and me had supper in Tampines after the games. My muscles are...well...cramped :(

It's October already, time passes so fast.

14 October, 2008 - Mani & Pedi

I have a sudden urge to "fix" my nails today...and so a call to my manicurist solve all the nail problems :)

Had dinner with Sarah in Simei before rushing off to my appointment :)

Made a new friend today. She taught me what's "kata" means in Malay...flirty and vain tsk tsk so that's what Naz meant la keke

While she is doing my nails, she is also sharing stories about her love life and her ahem flings. I am flabbergasted when she told me she ate char siew pau cos she is a Muslim. Ok..affairs are pretty common nowadays.

12 October, 2008 - Millenia Walk

I just want to write that we went to Candy Empire in Millenia Walk this evening :) We were at Millenia Walk to collect the goodie bag for signing up for this Great Eastern Marathon the following Sunday. I must have been crazy to even agree to sign up arrrggghhh wonder what time must i wake up to do this...lagi xian

11 October, 2008 - Sim Lim shopping

Dar brought me to Sim Lim to buy some memory thingy..to be fixed onto the PC. I am beginning to appreciate the stuff that are being sold in Sim Lim. All these electronics gadgets makes me feel that the industry i am working in makes sense. All these little components add up to become what you and me (the consumers) use. :D

Next time i feel down or am unsure of where am i am headed for in my career, for a start, i could head down to Sim Lim hahaha At least it ignites some passion to my dwindling interest.

Anyway, the plus point is to visit the Korean minimart down the corner of the street. I can get lotsa Korean stuff here :)

People watch. That's what i love doing while seated at those so called side walk cafes (Singapore style) drinking bubble tea or eating wanton mee.

Darling Harbour...can't wait for that day already

10 October, 2008 - Closure dinner?

Went to Tampines to have dinner with Sarah after work today. She insisted on buying me dinner..sort of like a closure hmmmmm

Both of us ordered so much food that i am amazed we could actually finished them all. Noodle, xiao long bao, doufu, long beans and prawn rolls...FATTENING arrrgghhh lucky tomorrow is Saturday..i can go swim or run or do some gym thingy. (Most likely i would be sleeping off the fats and carbo...since sleeping helps to burn calories too)

We chatted, ate, chatted, ate and she sent me home. Along the way we chatted some more and i thought to myself that it's great to have friends :)

9 October, 2008 - Orchard and Lynn

Meet up with Lynn for retail therapy and some discussions about our dreams. She is starting work at a new place next week and she needs new clothes hahaha

Orchard is horrendously packed with people even on a weekday afternoon. The trains were crowded and people walked hurriedly. We walked the whole of City Link and headed to Orchard. Shop shop shop and i managed to get a dress from Zara, a pair of falsies from I-nouvi, a belt for Amy from Far East and a pink lippie from MAC. I am crazy about lippies from MAC. Tried a garish red lippie and i look so darn OTT. Red lippie is definitely out unless i am bleaching myself to be as fair as an English rose hahahaha

Met Anna and Xiaojin after dinner at KFC. Anna looked the same. Strange to meet her out of nowhere and after Alex, it's such a pity that there seems to be no common topics between the both of us anymore. Strange that she just disappeared from my circle of friends in a flash...hmmm

By the time we parted, it was almost 9pm...TIRED but happy and satisfied :D

8 October, 2008 - Happy Bdae Rubes Darling

May all your wishes come true my dear sista, we'll celebrate your birthday with a cake in front of Darling harbour :)

5 October, 2008 - Pastor's Pen today

Not By Might nor by Power but By His Spirit

Are you someone who enjoys fixing things that are not working? Taking it apart, getting a glimpse of how it works and then putting it all back together? The experience can be really satisfying especially when you can get it back to work again.

Unfortunately, life is not so simple. Many things in life cannot be fixed so easily when they break down. One example is guilt we may still feel for sins long past even though we may have already forgiven. Or it could be a persistent weakness that keeps us stuck and bound in the same frustrating cycle over and over again. Just as broken appliances cannot be fixed without outside intervention, we too need some outside help. We must rely on God to repair the broken areas of our lives.

"Not by might not by power, but by my spirit," says the Lord Almighty. -Zechariah 4:6

30 September, 2008 - HK Cafe

Today is Tuesday and we do not need to go to work tomorrow because it is a public holiday heehee yay am i happy or am i happy

Sarah suggested going for dinner tonight..as a team. The word team is comforting.

It was almost 10pm and it was raining, Sean's in the gym. We can't go to 85 Bedok North with such a combination...so we chose the Hong Kong Cafe in Katong.

29 September, 2009 - 家教

This afternoon during lunch, Jessie was telling us about a nasty colleague. He makes her pay for most of their lunches despite driving her car out for lunches. Mind you, HE drives her car on the pretext that his car is too big to get a parking lot. He makes fun of her by saying that she is fat and round so can roll out quickly for lunch. There were other complaints from her...which i cannot remember but amidst the conversation, "oh dear and some more he is a Christian" popped up. I wonder why the majority of people are so critical and quick to pick on Christians. The only consolation i got is, God is a perfect Father. And so is Jesus. Christians have some very high standards to follow, thus the criticisms.

Been thinking long and hard about this...should there be a direct link between inappropriate behaviours to one's religion? Surely this equation cannot be fair and just. Religion teaches one to be a good person..or a better person basically. But if one's behaviour, thoughts and speech are "contaminated", should we blame religion? NO la! I feel that if we have to blame anyone, we blame parents. Why? Because parents are the ones who should have inculcated values, morales or whatever makes an honest person into a child's mind. It's call 家教.

Last Friday, at the bowling center, a mother allowed her two kids to run around the lanes. I mean ran around the lanes as in obstructing the bowlers' games. Then this particular mother was wearing a thigh length skirt and she was very fat. (i have nothing against fat girls). She sat opposite a group of young guys with her legs spread open...yes, in her thigh length tight skirt. And i could see she was wearing red undies. This is very bad. If she thinks it is ok to sit with your legs "open big big" while wearing a tight skirt, bless her daughter. I hope when she grows up, some one will tell her it is not right for a girl to sit like that while wearing skirt. When i was a little girl, if i put my feet on the table, my mum will shoot me a dangerous glare and i will be caned when all the uncles and aunties have left. So now, as a young lady, i know it is unladylike to do that. That's 家教.

Dar and me saw a packet of drink in the lift. Someone littered. Someone who finished the drink and left the empty packet on the floor. So...the culprit could be a Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Muslim. But it doesn't matter, because the fact is, he/she littered and it is regardless of religion. It is character and it is directly link to 家教..or rather, the lack of it.

家教 and EQ is what moulds a child into a perfect gentleman or a prim n proper lady..both should have impeccable manners and be a considerate person.

Dar says,"at the end of the day, we should be considerate and think of others in whatever we do. Be it driving, having your meals outside, taking public transport etc. We need to have basic consideration for others."

clap clap clap :) here is a man who will clear his tray after having his meals at fast food joints, who will wait for everyone to get out from the MRT trains and also let others enter before being the last to enter the train, who will bother to write to town council to inform them that we have a faulty light bulb in the car park (civic minded), who will drive or "cab&pay" his friends or colleagues home after an outing even if they don't stay near our place, who will offer to help the tourist who looked lost in the streets. The only thing that he cannot compromise is...cannot eat vegetables hahaha

Oh the wife has to die in the event of a fire because the man has to make sure everyone else is safe before saving the wife. If she is the wife, she will understand his intentions and if she dies, she will go in peace and understanding. Something that the wife cannot comprehend but has grown to understand and accept..because the man lives by the rule 我为人人,人人为我. The wife is not part of the 人人, she is part of the man hahahahaha

28 September, 2008 - JFK's granddad's bdae

Dinner at Sunset way with Jfk's relatives to celebrate his granddad's birthday.

The irritating question popped up. And the equally irritated facial expression showed up.

Trying already?

27 September, 2008 - Hayley's first month

Went to a buffet dinner for Hayley's first month celebration. Enough said :)

Made dar shop at Wisma with me. Everyone will be in Marina to catch the F1 race so Orchard should be less pack. We are right, there were not many shoppers heehee .

26 September, 2008 - Bowling & F1

Went bowling with Dar this evening. My score is slowly climbing up heehee from 93 to 95 to 103 or somthing yay but i have difficulty staying focussed. Everytime someone on either the left and right lane "bothers" me, my throw is lousy. Dar has to say "concentrate" a few times. I bought the chocolate ball again...to try to figure out the receipe hoho

I am hyperactive with a short attention span. Bad but i have no idea on how to make myself stay focussed. It's like when i choose to walk down a particular path, i will stop along the way to smell the roses and admire the scenary. Then who knows, i might discover something new or a new pathway. Side trackings... i am damn good at that. Good and bad..good because it means i am adventurous and open to new ideas and everything is possible. Bad because it means i get distracted easily and it's hard to get my attention for long. But it also means i won't remember slights and hurt for long because i will forget..damn. Forgive and forget or forget therefore forgive? I think i am more like forget therefore forgive plus abit of forgive and forget cos to be angry at someone or something saps too much energy and waste too much time heehee

Ok..writting crap again...it's supposed to be about bowling hahaha soon, i will have a game free of "drain hits".

F1 starts today..the "trial" run. This is the first time that Singapore is hosting the race :) and it's also the first night race. STEADY la, Singapore rocks (in today's teenagers' term...rocks seem to be a happening word)

24 September, 2008 - TANGS member

Many new dance steps to learn today :) like pretending to scoope water with our chest OMG. First we push the chest forward, then lift em' up and move em' in a circular motion. This is complicated because i slouch alot..but i am blessed in that department so it is supposed to be a piece of cake for me according to the instructress. But no...it's tough and i can feel the muscles aching in my abs. Anyway, it's making love to the music..dance should be sensual and flowy..and whatever..

We shopped at Vivocity - Tangs this evening. I found a blusher in a perfect shade, at least at this moment, to make my cheeks look as though they are glowing from the sun hahahaha also got an eyeliner and a nude lipstick :) everything's M.A.C...drama make up store. Cannot understand my need to look for the perfect nude lipstick. The guys will say, if it's going to be nude, just go without lipstick DUH. Anyway, there are many shades of nude lipsticks. And the blusher is actually a bronzer hahaha the kind that makes one look like one has too much sun...it's call the sunkissed look.

I am a new Tangs member today :) this card will get me 6% off for all items HURRAY.

Wonder if i am in love with shopping, in love with the thought of shopping or in love with the short term adrenalin rush that the new items provide.

23 September, 2008 - Vie Pub

Today is another crap work day. Full of shit and irritating issues. But because i wore my new bright blue Forever 21 top, i am in control of not letting my thoughts go wild. I was determined that i should leave work by 7pm today..going anywhere doesn't matter as long as i go somewhere. And i let my mind settled on some foot reflexology haha

Then better plans, Edwin jio-ed Sean, Amy and me for some drinks at Vie Pub. Great, having beer beats everything lo hahaha

Today's topic was hilarious. Laugh so much, smile too much :D

Shit - Why some people don't shit enough and why some people shit too much kekeke
Sex & reaction, Pre-ejaculation and orgasms - Duh

20 September, 2008 - Check Up

Dar went for his health screen/check up this morning and i went to the library with Karin. Borrow two books...one is about economics < the price of everything > and the other is a novel by Collin Cheong..my favourite Singaporean writer. I think he must be in his 40s now...

I could spend the whole day in the library or Borders and i would be a happy gal.

After the check up, we shopped around Causeway Point and i boughts toys for Benji and Jasmin. I actually bothered to spend time in Kiddy Palace to select toys blah..

Picked Marvin from Civic Plaza and went to laze in Yishun. Both of us are going to the Chinese physician for our persisting pain. I have water retention causing the pain in my feet?? I thought i drank so little water to not have water retention hmmm perhaps i should start drinking MORE.

19 September, 2008 - Steamboat & Desserts

We have an impromptu dinner appointment after work today. Sarah, Edwin, Sean and me are going to have dinner in Bugis. Steamboat..been a long time since i had steamboat.

After dinner, we had desserts at the Tong Shui shop across the road. Simple dinner, simple gathering, simple plan :)

Butter Factory, Karaoke, Gay pub and lesbian pub coming up hohoho

15 September, 2008 - German Beer

Today has been a shitty, busy day. Why are emails neverending here...beginning to find this a chore, not challenging and boring. Or am i just feeling restless again hmmm

Achieva people are here today, it really feels strange to see familiar faces here. The office is alot noisier and definitely more crowded.

Went to have dinner with Sean in Changi Village and some bare beer but gosh the hawker center is closed for cleaning works. Anyway, after "chop chop filling our stomach", we had beer at a little tavern in the open. It was windy tonight and the German beer was so darn good. Wieder..something..forgot how to spell it but it's really good.

Topic today is on women haha what type of qualities in a woman is attractive to men bla bla. A smart woman knows when to give in to her man, when to be firm, when to manja and when to be nurturing. Haiz...after all the beer and yakking Sean sent me home...i wish i was still staying in Bedok, i miss Bedok...

14 September, 2008 - Rum Balls

Dar and me took a bus to Pasir Ris and get some groceries at NTUC. Well, not exactly groceries...but rather, ingredients for my rum balls :)

Jervis was busy so i am on my own today. The makings of rum balls hahahaha i love rum balls.

Ok..in my excitement to make them, i forgot to take pictures of my hard work...damn

Anyway..it was successful cos Jervoise and Jervis both said it taste great keke. I love Malibu too :D

damn it..no pictures

13 September, 2008 - Benji's birthday celebration

Went to dar's place this afternoon to celebrate little Benji's second birthday, handsome little boy.

Both of us took the bus to Yishun cos our baby is still in the garage. But we both enjoyed the ride keke been such a long time since the both took the bus :)

Eyes On Me - Final Fantasy VIII

12 September, 2008 - Anthea & TP bdae lunch

Busy friday :( and i am stuck in a con call and the whole lunch thingy almost went haywire..darn..why can't people just stick to the original plan..

To elebrate Anthea & TP's birthdays, we had lunch at New York New York in E!Hub. Great, because this is the original plan with blessings from the birthday gal and birthday guy. One of those rare moments where everyone gather together to have lunch :)

After work, Sean and me went to get a foot massage :) and desert in a Tong Shui place in Chinatown.

My almond paste with tang yuan

Sean's beancurd soup with chin chow

Then it's to the lesbian pub hahaha Sean thinks he is in heaven.. I am fascinated with this lesbian thingy. It's kinda sexy to see two girls very close..physical or emotional. This pub was discovered by Sean because he could feel the ahem aura hahaha which i couldn't detect...i must be daft.

11 September, 2008 - Babies?

I had an interesting conversation with Aising this evening..about babies. Both of us share the same apathetic feeling towards having babies, which was great because then i can share my thoughts.

Some couples go through a long and tiring process just to conceive. I know of someone who is in his late thirties, whose wife wanted a child so bad, they went through a whole series of tests, tests, test and more tests. Some couples go through the motion of having sex at a stipulated time (ovulation time) for the sake of conceiving. Sex, i feel, should be enjoyable, fun, experimental and kinky. Sorry i am not being coy here hahaha When sex is being perceived as a ticket to becoming parents...that, in my own opinion, is arrrggghhh i am at a "loss for words"...

A friend once said i would never understand the pain and disappointment of yet another unsuccessful "sex to conceive" time. He said that's because i have no strong desire to be a mother. I think he is right...

Children are an extension of oneself...and i must be selfish. I do not like the idea of having my life revolve around kids. Or having that kind of commitment be it emotional, financial or life style. I love kids, and i believe kids adore me as well...but i am rather emotionally detached from having my own kids. The idea freaked me out many years ago and it still does now. I am so tired of fielding off "when are you having kids?" that i have switched to auto reply mode "in two years time"...yah next to never. I must admit that my resolution of never having kids has somewhat been shaken over the past two years. Because i saw Kaizer, Edgar and many more babies. The biological clock that has never existed in me has somehow appeared subtlely. But i am struggling with it. The thought of a pregnant body somehow strikes fear in me...有人对我说过,生过孩子的女人才完整..is it true? But i know it's true that being pregnant once in a life time lower the risk of cyst and fibroids. If that's the case, that must be why i am being "punished" with a bloody fibroid hahaha

Anyway, i salute all mothers out there...because bringing a child to this world takes more than just courage and commitment..it changes one's life forever.

And when the right time comes, i might be a mummy in my own right :)

10 September, 2008 - Scars!!!

I am sick :( sore throat and flu and i certainly felt lousy and weak.

Went lunch with Edward, Ling Chun, KC, Amy, Sarah and Jasmine today and shopped at NTUC for some snacks. Amy and me bought 2 packs of vitagen and 4 packs of yoghurt for our day time "cheers" session. Amy bought an offensive box of kiwi (reason of offence TBA). Today is Wednesday and NTUC does not provide us with free plastic bags cos it's Eco-friendly day. So...we stuff everything into the plastic bag and i carried that bag. The plastic box containing the kiwi has got sharp edges..and i accidentally scratched my left leg a few times and idiotically found it itchy instead of painful. By the time we got back to work, i saw blood on the plastic bag when i put the stuff on the table. DAMN! I have just made four deep scratches on my leg arrgghh i hope there won't be scars :(

Jfk and Sean thinks i am an idiot, at different times, because i actually confused pain with itch!! Anyway, i think flu has prevented my brain from any form of sane clarity tsk tsk

Andrew is in the office today and we went for dinner after work...we left the office at 7.45pm and had our dinner in Upper Serangoon..Teochew porridge, his treat keke and he sent me home. I am glad to see this friend again :)

9 September, 2008 - Men & Women

I was staring into my laptop, thinking what sites should i be surfing and whose blog to read when the word "gentlemen" popped into my mind. So being the typical curious cat, i asked my best friend, Mr. Google, on what exactly makes a perfect gentleman...and found out more than i bargained for :) (Rubes, i know i still owe you that "do men know?" thingy)

"People, like diamonds, have a basic market value, but it is only after they have been polished that the world will pay their real value."
- William Thourlby

********************************************************************************
Etiquette Of A Gentleman
Chivalry may be on life support, but it is not dead yet. Be one of the few to keep this flame burning for many years to come.

Always open doors
This is perhaps the most basic rule of male etiquette out there. It is also one of the easiest to follow so you have no reason to forget it. Whether she is about to enter your car, restaurant, club, or anyplace with a door, you should always hold it open. If there are many doors, then hold them open one after the other.

Put on her coat
Always help a lady put on her coat or overgarment. This is a simple but powerful action.

Help with her seat
If an unaccompanied lady is sitting next to you, it is important that you help her be seated by pulling her chair out for her and gently pushing it back into place, with the lady seated of course.

Give up your seat
If a lady arrives at the table and there are no available seats, you should stand up and offer yours to her.

Stand at attention
Always stand when a lady enters or exits the room. This rule has been somewhat relaxed, so you can stand upon entrance but remain seated upon exit. Nonetheless, if you can do both, you should.

Give her your arm
When escorting a lady (that you know) to and from social events, you should offer her your arm. This is a little more intimate, but serves well when walking on uneven ground -- especially if she's wearing high heels.

Ask if she needs anything
This is one that most guys already do, but helps complete the gentleman in all of us nevertheless. When at social events, make sure to ask the lady if you can get her something to drink (or eat, depending on the event). Show her that you care about her comfort and needs.

Gentlemen, if I may call you that, these are the rules of etiquette you should observe in everyday life. Elevate yourself above the rabble and display the mannerisms of a true gentleman. The world will appreciate such a rarity and your career will most definitely benefit from your good manners and savoir-faire .

Habits women love
Men might think that women are complicated creatures who cry for no reason and make nonsensical complaints out of boredom. The truth of the matter is, however, that women aren’t that difficult to figure out at all. All they want is a little attention. So to avoid those nasty “You never do anything romantic” arguments, there are a few habits women love that you can adopt to get on her good side.

Adopt these habits women love and you’ll never hear her complain again.

Getting compliments
More than anything, a woman wants to be appreciated. Whether she’s a self-assured diva or a shy sweetheart, she wants to know that her assets and abilities are recognized. If you can make her feel special, rest assured that you’ve made a good start with her.

The only catch is, however, that your compliments must sound sincere. Telling her she looks fabulous in that outfit after she complains about looking fat counts for something, but it was coaxed out of you. Instead, make your compliment sound genuine by catching her off-guard with an impromptu “You’re beautiful” or “I love your cooking” and she’ll be putty in your hands.

Receiving phone calls
Maybe you call just to say hello or perhaps you keep her informed if your plans have changed, or if you’re going to be late. The point is you make an effort to bend an elbow and put a phone to your ear. Calling is important for the health of a relationship and is one of the many habits women love. We’re not talking about hour-long heart-to-hearts here; just short “hello” phone calls are all that’s necessary to appease your lady. Women tend to be communicative creatures, and they also like to be in the know. So, when you call and let her know what you're up to, it stops her from wondering -- and trust us, she’ll wonder -- about what you’re doing.

Being a priority
You have the choice on any given evening to spend a quiet night enjoying your lady and her -- ahem -- home cooking or to play poker with the guys. Tough call. Whether you realize it or not, women appreciate this conundrum. They know you ache to spend some bonding time with the guys, which is all the more reason why your girl appreciates it when you choose her instead. When you set aside all other plans just so you can see her lovely face, you make her feel special and important, and there’s no better way for a girl to feel.

The thing to remember about this habit is that in order to really put her first, you need to do it willingly. Although it may be killing you to miss out on some boy time, it’s key to the whole process that you give all your attention to her when you're together. Just enjoy yourself!

Getting attention
You know that old cliché that women like a good listener? Here’s a tip: Most clichés come from truth. Although sensitive, devoted, brooding men can be dreadfully boring, it really is great if you can listen to what she has to say and actually care about it. Great listening skills are essential in getting to know one another. Listen, ask questions and remember what she’s said. You’ll find out so much more about her that you’ll be hooked and only want to know more.

Paying attention doesn’t only apply to listening either. It’s all the better if you notice her haircut, that she looks upset or that she’s stressed out. Paying attention means that you care about what’s going on with her, and there’s no bigger compliment than that.

Being surprised
Any woman who’s been dating for some time probably thinks she has you figured out because most men tend to exhibit the same traits. So, when you surprise her with an unexpected gift or cool date, she’ll feel like she’s found somebody really special. She will probably feel refreshed and lucky to be around you. A women can also be surprised by many seemingly benign things, like a spontaneous phone call.

Surprising somebody can seem like a tough thing to do, but it’s really not that difficult. Many women don’t expect all that much from you, and can be all too forgiving of mediocrity. So, try going out of your way to do something special just for her.

The habits women love are those that are considerate of their feelings. If you can be the guy to make her feel respected, cared for and special, she’s bound to stick around.

8 Male Behaviors She Secretly Loves
It’s hard to establish the exact characteristics that members of the opposite sex find attractive. While women fanatically ready themselves in anticipation for a date, men may drool over a sweaty gym bunny instead. Likewise, women aren’t always known for being the most straightforward when it comes to dishing on what they think is hot in a man. Most men have been nagged by girlfriends about some characteristic or another; but wouldn’t it be great to find out some of those behaviors are actually what keep your woman interested? Sometimes a woman can seem outwardly annoyed by a man’s behavior, but actually find it attractive. Confused?

Read on to find out if which of your “male” behaviors she secretly loves, and you may think twice about changing your ways.

1- Being a man’s man
Although it may seem like a woman wants a man who dresses up more than he acts up, sometimes a football-playing, nacho-eating, jersey-wearing guy can be more appealing than you‘d think. Now and again, she enjoys seeing you in your element getting to rescue her or fix stuff or goofing off with the guys.

A woman doesn’t date a man in order to have a competitor for prettiest hair or shoes; it’s likely that the differences between the two of you are what attracted her in the first place. It is true that when you go out to the ballet or to a nice dinner, she’d like you to dress well and act better, but what she doesn’t admit is that, for the most part, she appreciates your masculinity, no matter how unfinished it may be. You don’t always have to be dressing up or holding doors to have her hanging off your every word, just make sure your beer belches are kept well-timed and in the company of your buddies.

2- Saying no
Having a mind of your own is a good thing, even if it means making her angry now and again. Guys tend to think that women want a boyfriend they can lead around by the nose, and who will do whatever he’s told. While it would be a relief to know things would happen exactly how she planned them, being in a relationship like that could get really, well, boring. Women want a guy who has something to offer in terms of opinions and conversations. They also want a man with a personality. If a man’s entire life is his woman, he won’t have much else to talk about, and there will be few surprises left.

Also, women who enjoy being in power tend to enjoy being challenged once in a while (Read: A feisty argument can liven things up from time to time). So as much as she’ll have you believe that you should be under her control, don’t be fooled and don’t think that you need to be her pet boy to keep her hanging around. Keep your life and your habits, and just find ways to fit her in nicely.

3- Having a strong sexual appetite
While it’s true that anybody would feel used by a partner who only wants sex, it’s equally true that when a man can’t control his urges for a woman, she revels in every minute of it. It’s not often people get as much undivided attention as a man gives to a woman he wants to sleep with her. After a stressful day with coworkers, a woman can feel on top of the world with an attentive mate. If she’s in a high-powered or competitive job, she might even enjoy the switch of roles that comes with not having to make the first move in a sexual encounter. It allows her to sit back and enjoy herself.

4- Being independent
Women are notorious for nagging about their men being too busy or not paying them enough attention or spending too much time at work or with the guys. It is, of course, very important to treat a woman like a queen if you want her to stick around. However, you should recognize that if you have no other interests, hobbies or things to do, she will likely feel stifled in the relationship. Not only does your woman appreciate having space as much as you do, it is also sexy for a man to be independent and self-sufficient. A needy or unambitious mate is not attractive to most women. So, while you need to set aside time for your lady friend, making time for your career and hobbies can be just as important to a relationship.

5- Being jealous
Jealousy is a very powerful emotion. Although unchecked jealousy can easily get out of hand, a touch here or there can really fan the flames of attraction. If she thought you really didn’t care about the bartender who hit on her or her coworker who has a crush on her, she’d think you didn’t care about her at all, and she’d likely find somebody else who did. When you ask the intentions of her close-working coworker or probe into her relationship with her personal trainer, she may chide you for your overactive imagination, but it’s certain that she’s smiling on the inside. Remember: When it comes to jealousy, a little will go a long, long way, so use it very sparingly. Be aware of its power and allure: She can get really hot over a man who’s protective of her assets.

6- Showing occasional vulnerability
Everybody likes feeling needed sometimes, and since women aren’t often in the position where they can protect their boyfriends, it’s nice to see you need help in other ways. For instance, she may gripe that you need more socks or she’ll complain that you always forget to pick up your dry cleaning or that you always need help picking out your tie/shirt ensemble.

It may sound silly, but sometimes helping you out in these little ways can make a woman feel good and more attracted to you. It’s not that she wants to be your mommy, that’s likely the last thing on her mind. It’s just that if you need help and she can offer it, she’ll feel powerful, helpful and important. Men seem to think that they need to be an untouchable hero figure to be attractive to women, but that’s just not true. A little hint of helplessness makes you somewhat vulnerable, and most women can’t wait to sweep in and help.

7- Hiding your feelings
She may always complain that she doesn’t know what you’re thinking; she may ask to talk about your relationship or your day at work. It seems like she is always asking for you to pour your heart out so that she can know your innermost feelings. You know that women talk to their girlfriends about all their ups and downs, and especially about their worries. Likewise, it would probably be easier for her to know the score if you told her exactly how you were feeling.

Sometimes, however, the fact that you’re a little bit mysterious or elusive can be a major turn-on. Half the fun is figuring out how to crack the case. Women enjoy the challenge of figuring out what you’re thinking without having to be told. So keep it a mystery; share the important stuff, and don’t feel pressured to give it all up when she asks you to. She might not hate it as much as you think.

8- Occasionally objectifying her
Women want to be respected for their brains and abilities, just like men do. They also want a handshake for a job well done, and they want a promotion when it’s due. But if a woman’s looking smoking-hot, she wants some attention for it. Of course, this depends heavily on circumstance and the relationship with those attention-givers.

But when it comes to a man she digs, that woman will not mind having her assets checked out. Women enjoy a compliment, just like men do. When it comes to looks, there are few better compliments than a man whose gaze wanders south of a woman’s face or strays to watch her walk away. Even a crude compliment will go miles from a trusted source. So don’t think you have to be squeaky-clean or even upstanding to get her attention. If you notice her, she’ll be flattered, and flattery will get you everywhere.

7 September, 2008 - Eyebrows Embroidery

Jervoise picked me up after church service today :) cos i don't want my mooncakes to melt. Jervis gobbled up the mooncakes...especially the champagne filled ones hmmmmm

Took the train to Bishan to meet Sarah for our eyebrows embroidery appointment yay

It hurts. Period.

We have to bear the pain of plucking our eyebrows to get the correct shape, followed by needles filled with ink poking at our brows. Both of us permed our lashed..cos it was irresistable to get lovely curled lashes. I did an additional thing...i "burnt" the 油泡 near my eyes..all three of them and it hurts BIG TIME. But i kept my mind very focused that if i bear with the pain, i will have a 油泡-less face :)

Our next appointment would be in March next year..the beautician is so hot we gotta wait like half a year to fix our brows.

Damaged done - 150 bucks for the brows, thirty five bucks for the lashes and twenty bucks to get rid of the 油泡.

The things women do in the name of beauty hahaha

6 September, 2008 - Pedi/Mani Package

I think i spent too much this month..exceeded the "ok to spend" budget set aside for shopping..oh dear....can't shop much for next month.

10am to 12pm - Intensive Facial (a hundred bucks)
4.30pm to 7.30pm - Manicure & Pedicure (four hundred and eight bucks for seven sessions)

:) :) :)

This meant i spent a bomb this weekend arrrgghhh OMG, this is the first time i succumbed to signing up a package with a mani/pedi shop. The standard better remain as good sial.. First of all, i must say that the deco of this shop is extremely stylish. Mosaic floor tiles, modern orange and red theme. The service was superb, the staff were all so courteous. And from observing how the 老板 dresses and how he interacts with his customers and staff, one can see he sets very high standards on both his staff and himself. Probably an OCD in his own way hahaha

My manicurist working hard on my nails

Jfk has buang monster again. Monster's head light has dropped off......poor baby :(

Bye Bye - Mariah Carey

5 September, 2008 - Bowling

We had dinner at LJS this evening before Jfk sent me home to change and pick up his bowling ball. Edwin picked us at 9pm and we drove over to the wake of Ling Chun's mum at Punggol..Nicholas and I-Jiun arrived not long after us.

Side track abit...Ling Chun has got cute ex-commandos friends but it is an inappropriate time to check out guys though..

Went to meet Rubes and Yan for three rounds of bowling at East Coast. Lucky i have yet to do my manicure, else damn sim tia about my nails sial.. I use ball number 12 and i think because the ball is heavy, my thumb nails chipped off :(

After three rounds, it was almost 2am plus...and we headed to Carls Junior for drinks and some finger food.

I was sleepy and tired...

4 September, 2008 - Mingle Nite

My mooncakes from Raffles hotel are here today, perfect :) The tin boxes are so classy and even the carriers are of eco friendly material. 真的是一分钱一分获。

Today, i went to the dinner cum drinks session organised by David to inofficially mingle with our new colleagues from Achieva. Took Edwin's car and pick up Amanda from her workplace at Hitachi Towers before heading down to Ann Siang.

It feels kinda strange to see this crowd..it almost feels like seeing the past and present in a small pub. Weird feeling of nostalgia swept through...good to see Beng Hua and gang though..Beng Hua = drinks and karaoke and more drinks. SA with his cute belly, Frederick with his fabulous singing. The best part was spending a decent amount of time chatting with Andrew and Gui :)

Kinda nice to see old pals again..anyway we would be seeing each other pretty soon. We left after a while and Kannan sent me home :)

3 September, 2008 - Forever 21

This is one of those mundane days...a day that i indulge in some shallow and ditzy writings.

I have a big bruise on my left arm..and my left feet is kinda swollen. And i realised that Amy has a bruise on her right arm and her right feet is kinda swollen too muahahahahaha our relationship is sealed with a kiss, a bruise and a swell :D Both of us ended up applying cream on the offending areas of our bodies.

Today is the last lesson of our bellydancing basic steps. Next week we will be attending the intermediate class yay Our instructress performed a dance for us today..COOL STUFF, she can move all three muscles in the tummy and move like a graceful carmel. Strange words to be put together...it's a graceful and sensual movement and it's known as the carmel walk :) hahaha

The choice of our retail therapy today is Vivo City. Great, this is a shopping center that houses most of the UK brands. Anyway, we are going to focus on Forever 21. Both of us screened through rows after rows of clothes and accessories. And i managed to get a top to match my new high-waisted skirt, a purple belt and a chunky gold charm bracelet :) Aising got a new top, a necklace and a pair of feathery earrings that we both fell in love with :) we have the same taste heehee I tried on a purple halter neck dress but it's a pity i couldn't buy it...cos i am not going to walk around looking tarty. I wish i had smaller arms and smaller boobs..actually smaller everything whenever i want to buy those itsy bitsy cutey dress arrrggghhh and i imagine liposuction on myself for five seconds of "feel good" mental excercise hahaha

What should i wear in Friday to match my bracelet hmmm

31 August, 2008 - Health

The blood vessal in Dad's left eye burst and his eye was bloodied internally. Gosh how dreadful, we had to bring him to the A & E in Changi hospital. We got there at 6.30pm and left the hospital at almost 11pm. I even get to catch Super Returns on HBO! Gosh...i don't like hospitals. There is always a strong medical smell lingering on the air and sounds of coughs, sneeze, and tired looks all around. Quite frightening to think that if one is injured, sick or unconscious, one has to be admitted to the hospital.

Health is so important, yet, it is the one thing that all of us take for granted. Without a healthy body, we would not be able to think about spiritual or emotional health.

I imagine it must be every girl's dream to have a guy like Superman hahaha strong, invincible, devoted and totally in love with the woman he set his heart and mind on.

Later in the night, we watched 少年杨家将 and my eyes got teary. 杨七郎 and 杨业 died in this episode. 杨大郎,杨二郎 and 杨三郎 died in the previous episode. 杨四郎 went missing and 杨五郎 is depressed. But the worst is the scene where the mother had to clean the bodies of her sons before buriel. OMG and suffer in pain that the body of her husband has been captured by the enemy. Damn, as i was watching it, i wish i could kill that shithead 潘仁美. I imagined that he ought to be tied up and all his joints are severed and he is being blinded. Then he would die a slow and painful death for causing the deaths of the whole of the 杨 army. Jfk added that his flesh should be cut opened and be sprinkled with salt. My my aren't the both of us cruel tsk tsk

29 August, 2008 - Kranji Turf Club & 3 seconds of Fame

We are going to a horse race in Kranji today :) so exciting. Thank you for inviting us (Viv, help pass the message heehee)

I was making a ahem..rather difficult and shallow decision of whether to wear my new pair of jeans today or just wear a lil' bit more formal. The dress code to the race is smart casual, therefore, jeans, tee-shirts and slippers are absolutely out. In the end, i chose to wear my jeans and bring a skirt along. I am getting real adept at changing in a moving car :)

For our first race, i wanted Jfk to help me bet on the horse "Welcome Back" but he did not do it. And it won the race. Arrrggghhh! Anyway, dar bought forecast positioning bets of number 3, 5 and 6 in the next race..and won 350 bucks :D Amazing sial! Jfk's three seconds of fame :D

I've got another cheese cake for my birthday :) this is a Japanese cheese cake, the spongy type keke Anyway, the races were all so exciting..i am just going to let the pictures and videos "speak" about the excitment.

Our Videos

After the race, we headed to Holland village for ice-cream. The kinds that you mixed lotsa extra nuts bla bla bla and mixed it on a nitrogen plate. YUMMY! It's kinda overpriced though...there are many SYTs and CYHs in Holland village. I feel old and i suddenly missed my youth. Youth as in when i was between the age of 18 to 24. This would be the time where one has alot of anticipation about life. There are plenty of things to do, plenty of expections to meet, many parties to attend and non of these activities or the lack of sleep would show on one's face...meaning, no wrinkles, tired eyes, shallow skin or dark circles/eye bags. Collagen..or rather the decline of it, now that i am in my thirties, is starting to show arrrggghhh

28 August, 2008 - Happy Day Part Two

Jfk dropped me at the Macdonald in Serangoon Gardens this morning. Meeting Edwin there for breakfast before going to 3M :)

Serangoon Gardens is so tranquil in the morning. As i sat outside Macdonald's waiting for Edwin, i noticed many retirees going about doing their business. Business meaant having breakfast leisurely at coffeeshops, bringing grandsons/granddaughter to pre-school, sipping kopi while reading the papers and sitting by the coffeeshop to hear birds chirping. MAN, this IS life.

In this coffeeshop that we had youtiao and nasi lemak (Rubes, Edwin ate the nasi lemak, not me keke but cos i ate youtiao, yam cake and ice milk tea..i was too full for more coffee) everyone was friendly. No stress makes one more smiley i guess. Imagine if one has to make many, many cups of kopi, tea or milo in the quickest manner at the shortest time, one would not be smiling so much. Having breakfast in a coffeeshop while it was raining is so cool it seems almost unreal that this is happening on a Thursday morning.

Next is to Agilent building to see 3M :) i am so excited that i am going to see Rubes and her workdesk as well as meet mr charming.

3M is very GLAM. I mean who else will have a mock up kitchen, a mock up workdesk full of post-its notes and scotch tapes, a mock up operations table, a mock up airplane seat, a mock up road, a mock up toilet and many other stuff. I AM IMPPRESSED lo..i feel like i just step into some typical american company. High ceiling, modern interior deco and spacious work desk. There is even a red (my favourite colour) retro looking wall as part of the discussion corner, complete with red arm chairs. My dream company :) i like the smell of their scotch tape.

The most magical thing is they have this tank full of liquid that looks like water but is not. It's non conductive and Yvonne submerge her handphone into the tank and we could still get through her phone!! There was "water" in her handphone after that but it evaporated in like 5 minutes!!! AMAZING!

Ok, i am being overly excited about this...but i can't help it.

Thank you :)

27 August, 2008 - Happy Day Part One

I was fidgety this morning..i kept staring at the clock cos when it's 10am, i am going downstairs to order mooncakes from Raffles Hotel YUMMY this is a good buy, 25% discount and free delivery :) Last year, i didn't take advantage of this good buy and went to Raffles Hotel to make my purchase for their champagne mooncakes. There was no discount and worst, they were OUT OF STOCK!!

Loo is here in Singapore and he is coming to our office for meeting and hala hala with our sales people. Halfway through the meeting, we got "recalled back" to supplier's factory in Tuas. Since there weren't much time to have lunch at some fanciful place, we had lunch in the canteen. Edwin brought me to the factory with him, listen to some feedbacks, and rushed to customer's place in Woodlands. This is so fun. So nice to see people talk and talk and talk. Different style, different view points, different situations.

Feels good to be out of the office, away from all the emails and all the "urgency" of every single issue. After the meet up at customer's, i had to leave for my bellydance class :)..so sad i can't join for dinner and witness some men's actions after dinner hohoho

23 August, 2008 - Fried Prawn Noodles

This afternoon, we went to Uncle Seng Hua & Auntie June's place for a family gathering. Uncle Seng Hua is going to fry his signature dish - Hokkien Char Hai Mee (mai seow seow) Somemore can special order, mai bang dao gay (don't add beansprouts)heehee

Auntie Mey prepared lotsa food for us..there was my favourite Kuey Pie Ti, fishballs, fried prawn mee, roast duck, jelly etc etc etc.. FATTENING DAY!

We played games on WII, ate, played pool, ate, jump on the jumping jack, ate, drank vodka peach with margarita, ate...OMG..ate and ate and ate. Jfk, Shaun, Wayne, Candice and me played a silly card game. Each of us get a stack of cards, and we were supposed to take turns to say "ace, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9..." as we throw out cards on the table. If whoever thows out a card which corresponds to the number being called out, the rest of the players have to put both hands onto the table in the center (like the game Heart Attack), and the winner will try to hit any hands not fast enough to "siam". The person who gets hit will be a "minus one". And those not being hit will be a "zero". Here's the silly part...if a "minus one" talks to a "zero" and the "zero" responds, "zero" will become a "minus one". Rule of the game is to talk to another player who is of the same status as you. If you are a "minus three", you will try ways and means to get the "zero", "minus one" and "minus two" to respond to you :) and "minus four" does the forfeit. Of drinking 10 glasses of vodka or doing push ups hahahahaha the game was silly but fun. We spent alot of time laughing and laughing :) good work out for the stomach keke

After dinner, dar surprised me with a chocolate cheese cake :) WOW, he ordered it online and had the guy sent the cake to Auntie June's place in the afternoon...so happy..dar has bought me two cheesecake for my birthday already.

Wayne and me doing the WII boxing game

Wayne doing his forfeit :)

22 August, 2008 - Pump Room/China One = Anticipation

We headed down to Pump room at Clark Quay this evening to celebrate Amy and my birthdays :) Sean and Desmond went there because we have made a reservation at 2pm. Edwin drove Sarah, Amy, Aising and me later..we were fashionably late :) But Chin was the last one to arrive keke

The food at Pump room is smashing! And pricey of cos...but it's paying good money for good food. Sean ordered a Malibu with pineapple juice for me which was BEST. I like Malibu..new found interest hahaha. The band played some really nice songs and after that, it was retro music. NICE. I wondered how would my life have been if i could sing really well and perform as a singer in pubs. I would most probably be keeping late nights, drinking lots and lots and smoking packs and packs of ciggies hahaha We stayed til almost 11pm..after the live band has sang a few songs before heading to China One. Never knew Desmond knew his way around Clark Quay so well :)

The zeh mo delicious cheesy garlic bread

The lagi more delicious fried chicken wings

At China One, the music was more hip hop, RnB style..and Desmond ordered a bottle of Chivas. He mixed three quarter of chivas with a quarter of mixer...bad news. I don't take well to hard liquer..i would be seeing stars and clouds later. Amy suggested posing as if we kiss but i think we did a peck on each other's lips...OMG We are now the official "les" in the group. Lucky both of us are straight..if we had knew each other in our twenties, i am sure we would have gone mad, wild and crap and we will probably be doing the silliest of things together. Lucky we are now rather ahem into our retrained thirties :) but once in a while, it's great to let your hair down and just have fun without constraint or restriant. Like i have mentioned before in a much earlier entry True to Oneself ...sometimes loud music and alcohol makes people lose their inhabitations... drinks + music = heady and natural :)

Wilson joined us with two friends and bought us another bottle of Chivas..which we finished quite fast..After all the drinks, i felt heady and sleepy.. but it was a fun time out together. Edwin sent Aising and me home.......sleepy..and i never bathe or remove my make up. I just went to sleep wearing whatever was on me oooooh bad news for the skin.

Counting my blessings for knowing so many friends :) thank you God for everything.

Work hard & parrrrrrrty hard :)

21 August, 2008 - Maine's Birthday hohoho

I feel very blessed today :) At midnight, i got a kiss from Jfk, received wishes from Edwin and Amy...and got many msn messages from Geraldine (all the way from Japan) Charles (who's back from Shenzhen), Rubes, Joyce, Desmond :) Jervoise, Jervis, Mum and Dad called and sms me as well haha mum must have taken ages to type that message. Auntie Mey sent me a picture of a roast pig and said that's my birthday present on Saturday hahaha

In the afternoon, i am busy typing "thank you" msgs on msn to Sarah, Catherine, SiewLin, Penny, Angeline Cho, AL Lee, Siew Hooi, Julie, Willie, CP, Doris, Sharon Ang, Yan, Angeline Poh, Duncan & Vivian, Hui, Lian..and oh dear..i forgot who else..the power of FB hahaha

We had lunch at Ajisen in PP today and i chose the volcano which would later cause my tummy to burn. I always thought i could handle this spicy little bowl of noodles..but my tummy always seem to be on fire after a few hours. This is my second attempt..i shall try again to prove that the chili is "小 case" heehee Edwin, Sean, Sarah, Fenn and HB got me vouchers from Borders..so touched..now i can get more recipes books on pastries and feed em' :D if i can't slim down, i can at least make my friends fat hohoho Thank you very much for the gift :)

Right after lunch, i received a bouquet of flowers from Duncan & Vivian awwwwwh so sweet of them. Thank you very much, the flowers are pretty :)

Jervoise gave me a birthday kiss right after i stepped foot in the living room :)Dinner with my family at Mad Jack's. This place is over priced...but dar likes the burger so...anyway the dinner cost us about a hundred bucks for six persons..so expensive and the food is not fantastic. And the highlight of the dinner was tata

Waiter: Here's your soup, enjoy!
Mum to me: Why is the cream of mushroom soup so oily and so "liquid"?
Me: Dunno lei..
Jervoise: It's like that wan la, just drink la, not bad wat *glurp glurp glurp and finished the whole bowl.
Mum: I dunwan la, think something wrong, where got ang moh soup like that wan, you think like chinese soup??
Me to waiter: Hi, is the soup supposed to be this oily and this diluted?
Waiter: Oh..sorry mam, i dun think so, let me check
After five minutes, waiter returns with a new bowl. This time the cream of mushroom soup looked like how a cream of mushroom soup should look like. Thick and not oily.
Waiter: I am so sorry about that mam, the soup was not supposed to be so oily..here's a new bowl for you.
Jervoise: huh! NOT SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE THAT??!!
All of us: Laughter hahaha

Dar got me a rum and resin cheesecake from the cheesecake shop in Siglap. And i realised that no one likes cheesecake in my family. I ended up having the whole cake to myself :) HAPPY hohoho

Counting my blessings over and over again. Life is beautiful when we surround ourselves with people who matters :)

Happy birthday to myself smuakz :)

I got to choose the August birthday cake hahaha :) i wished i could have baked a nice warm truffle chocolate cake decorated with M&M's chocolates..when i master the skill of baking a cake, maybe i can start to churn out birthday cakes for every month :D

17 August, 2008 - Cupcakes :)

I was late for church this morning...cos i wanted to watch the swimming competition :P fwah the swimming competitions were sensational.

Jervis, mum and me went to Cold Storage at PP to get ingredients for our cupcakes. Total cost of the ingredients is about eighty bucks...but hey, we can make many, many cupcakes.

Here are some pics of our hardwork :)

I just discovered that i like to bake :) i like the smell of baking flour mixed with Hersheys cocoa from the oven keke

Lian has ordered a box of cupcakes for me as my birthday gift :) it's from an online cupcakes shop.

Here's the link to check out the box of lovely cupcakes.

16 August, 2008 - Karaoke

Lunch with Hui, Penguin and the maid at Crystal Jade in Bishan. I think i ate too much dim sum...cos my shorts became tight after lunch :( I got a Anna Sui mascara and a limited edition purple tray (Anna Sui's signature flower carvings were on the tray)from Hui. Thank you very much :)

Meet up with Charles, Qianqian, Alar and Elaine in Tiong Bahru for dinner..and headed down to Party World in Chinatown. It has been so long since we go to Party World for a karaoke session...so many new songs..i am really out of touch haha

13 August, 2008 - Levi's

After our class, we went for retail therapy at Bugis. My agenda for today is to BUY A PAIR OF LEVI's JEANS yeah yeah :D

It took me only ten minutes to find a pair of rugged looking straight cut jeans oooooh i love it. Was admiring it when i found lil' holes on the jeans and asked the sales lady if she has another pair in the same cut but was told that's the design. That people actually cut up their jeans to get that kind of effect. And i am about to pay two hundred bucks for "holey" jeans..and join as a Levi's member :) Oh at least i got two complimentary leather belts with an interchangeable belt buckle for Jfk. Good deal for a pair of torn jeans hohoho

Hello Folks, i can get 10% discount off at Levi's, Aigner, Baby Addidas (duh) and Osh Kosh.

Unfortunately, i am not able to bring my jeans home tonight..i had to leave it at the shop to get it altered arrggghhh the inconvenience of being short not tall.

As usual, nothing could possibly irritate me tomorrow, i'll think of my jeans :) so much for retail therapy.

Last night, after slogging in the office til 9 plus, i had dinner with Sean in a tavern in Siglap. And because he just finished working out in the gym, he can't have beer...so i ordered mine and drank alone :) we ordered fried chicken and fries and i think that caused him to have fever...fried food with vanilla in cola is bad news..cos he is on sick leave today. Beer is a cooler :)

9 August, 2008 - Shaun's 21st Birthday lunch

We had lunch at Ah Yi Abalone in Turf city to celebate Shaun's 21st birthday this afternoon. Dim Sum mmmmm yummy

After lunch, we went to Shaun's place...for mahjong, National Day celebration and CHILL with tidbits and cola. Jervis and me drove to the Border's sale in Singapore Expo to check out books. Metro sale was going on in the next hall, gotta check that out too.

So many people, so little space...we had to squeeze past the crowd to get a decent spot to scour through piles after piles of books. But it was fun to be surrounded by so many books :)

By the time we got back to Shaun's place, it was almost dinnertime...and National Day parade starts. We could actually see fireworks from the living room waaaaah

Lazy Saturday...gone in a flash and i am so sleepy. And i am not in a writing mood..

8 August, 2008 - Grand Copthorne Dinner

I feel so very restless today. Because we are having dinner together at Grand Copthorne yippee yay We are using the funds that we won last year to finance this precious marketing dinner. After months of talking about doing something together as a team, WE ARE FINALLY DOING IT yay
Frederick has been nagging at Aising and me for organising the gathering without the sales team...i felt guilty..i really do hmmm but hey i have already allocated some time to feel bad about it...and the dinner has to go on :D Frederick is so cute when he is grumbling heehee Maybe next time, we shall collect like twenty bucks per pax and have a BBQ or something...it's quite fun organising gatherings :)

Grand Copthorne actually serves durian, the fruit, as part of the buffet. BEST lo, some of us crowd around the patio and savour durians. This is such a happy scene...imagine us sitting around a table, some were squatting, chomping away on durians :) maciam we were at some roadside in Geylang keke

After dinner, it was almost 10plus..and we headed for drinks at a wine pub next to the hotel. Only Catherine, Aising, Jasmine, Sarah, Chin, Edwin, Sean, Edward and me went for the second round for drinks.

Can't wait for the next gathering already ;)

6 August, 2008 - Dinner at Hua Ting

This evening, we are having dinner with supplier at Orchard Parade Hotel, Hua Ting. The name sounded cheena-pok to me...actually it is la. Wow..it has been almost a year since we had dinner with this supplier..last year's dinner was held on 14 Aug at Vivo City :) Two things disgust me tonight...one of the guests seated at our table has a big globe of "dunno what" sticking out of his nose almost the whole night. Another disgusting thing was when Steven went out to make a call and another guest sat at his place to chat. While he was busy talking, he sprinkled saliva over Steven's plate of noodles. YUCKS..boy am i glad that's not my noodle heh heh

After the dinner, went to check out ahem Orchard Tower with Edwin. So many boobs and thigh...so many sleazy massage parlours hmmmm wonder what is going on inside these parlours. Probably lotsa rubba rubba and sayang sayang keke

Last stop was beer at Muddy Murphy's, an Irish pub. Nice cosy place, good place to chill with friends and talk nonsense. Cool place to check out ang mohs :)

4 August, 2008 - Bougainvillea

These flowers caught my attention on my way to work this morning.

I think these are bougainvillea..the kinds we see adorning ECP leading to the airport. The flowers attracted me cos i noticed that there are three small white flowers in the center of the big purple flower, i mean the purple bougainvillea flower. Then there is a green dot in the center of the small white flower. I really do not know the exact term of the flower but i thought it was a pretty sight.

By the way, i found these flowers at the back of the bus stop :) Nature never seem to get a wrong, mismatched colour combination haha

Today shall be a wonderful day even though i am feeling unwell :) plus i have to try win the ping pong war game today.

3 August, 2008 - Mum's Baptism

We had to be at BBTC by 10am this morning. Mum's getting baptised. Can you believe it...my domineering mum who evoked so much rebelliousness in me by issuing me a warning that if i ever got baptised, i would have successfully got myself disowned as well. And mum is getting baptised today wor..so it is a big deal :) In fact, i suspected that i deliberately attended church and Sunday school when i was young just to spite her. I would be forgiven for such an act heehee blame it on the foolishness of youth.

She was so excited and all smiles :D Jervoise, Jervis, Elysia, Auntie Eugenia, Uncle Charlie, Auntie Molly, Grandma, Auntie Mey, Edric, Joanne, Daryl Sng and wifey, Mark and gf, Alex, Auntie SiewLan, Uncle Thomas, Qianqian, Uncle Buck, Auntie Mimi, Dad, old man, dad's friend, Jfk and me were all there to lend our support. Mum was smiling away when she was in the pool with pastor Jeffrey. Christianity has changed her. Comparing "mum now" with "mum then", i see peace in her. My relationship with mum has always been tumultuous but for the past one year, there is gentleness in her voice..and a softness in her face, a face that is truly happy from the heart...an unfamiliar sight to me in the past. Oh i am so happy for her :D

After the service, we had lunch together at this Chinese restaurant in Bedok. When we got home, Jervis, Elysia and me went to Reds in PP to get a haircut. Huge mistake for me cos i think he messed up my fringe. Eddie is the only perfect guy who can do wonders to my hair. For an instant, my hair felt violated and it's all my own fault for making a stupid decision :( shite i walked out of the salon feeling unattractive. This wouldn't have happened if i did my hair at Eddie's place.

Rubes, Yan, Gary and Edgar came over in the evening to discuss some details..and i was late cos Elysia was the last to do her hair and we still had to pump petrol and pump air to the tyres as well. So pai say...

The day ended with me eating three curry puffs for dinner..damn..so fattening and to think we had a heavy lunch.

Mum does not read my blog...nonetheless, i would like to say "i love you mummy" :)

2 August, 2008 - NATAS Fair Part Two

Rushed to Natas fair again this morning..to get the tickets. Finally, phew...Shall not elaborate on the bit about the lugguge thingy...cos it's just that lo..NATAS hahaha

Jfk's stomach is feeling queasy and we couldn't take a look at the Watson's fair and the Singapore food fair arrrggghhh

By the time we got home, it was 3.30pm and it was too late for me to go back to the office sigh...so i booked a time slot for a much needed facial. Jfk had to send me there cos there was no car park near the MRT and illegal parking would cost me seventy bucks..not to mention i don't feel safe driving monster with only one quarter tank of petrol and i 踩油踩很多...especially when i change gear..aiyo why can't monster be an auto car...

After facial, i walked over to next door to get a pedicure :) sooooooo nice to be a woman. If i could get my hair cut at Eddie's, it would have been purrrrrfect hahaha

By the time i got home, i felt refreshed. So refreshed that i did all the laundry, sweep and mop the floor, packed the shoe cabinet, scrub the sink and iron the clothes. That's alot of housework cos i HATE doing housework. I am no domesticated housecat keke

As usual, we cooked instant noodles cos we were both too lazy to go buy our dinner.

1 August, 2008 - NATAS Fair Part One

This afternoon, we had lunch at Serangoon :) the dou hua was cool stuff. Especially with gingko nuts mmmmm yummy this is THE much hyped about dou hua strongly recommended by Edwin :D it's selling at fifty cents per bowl and a dollar if we add gingko nuts...the bowl is the kind that grannies used in the 1970s..old school feel to it. It's unbelievable that one can get a bowl of dou hua at fifty cents :)

Met Kelvin there and he still looks the same keke

After work, dar and Jervis picked me to go to the Natas fair in Singapore expo. Meeting Yan and Rubes there to check out the prices of the air fare to Australia. It's hard to believe that the economy isn't doing well when i saw the crowd fwah it was packed!

Met Catherine and John from AVX, and a couple from FCBC...i forgot their names and it was so embarrassing..in a day, i met five persons unexpectedly..Singapore is so small.

We finished collecting "data" after about two hours..so tired. Dinner at Mad Jack with Rubes, Yan, Gary, Jervis and Jfk. Rubes and me shared a pizza but they took so long to serve us the pizza that i am quite full by the time it was ready. Drats.
